Walking here & there…

Its all very well having a plethora of attractions and activity centres to visit, but some of you may want nothing more than a pair of hiking boots and a fell to climb…

The Estate is ideally positioned at the start of a number of fantastic walks of varying length, including Helvellyn, Angle Tarn, St Sunday’s Crag, Fairfield and many more. A selection of walks are available to print from this page. We remind all guests that they should always wear suitable boots and clothing; take adequate provisions (including a healthy amount of water); take a map and decent guide book; and check the weather forecast before they set off. Always tell somebody where you are going and when you expect to be back, just to be safe. If you’ve forgotten anything then you can always buy or hire equipment from either Catstycam – The Outdoor Shop or Sharman’s Convenience Store in Glenridding. Patterdale Post Office sells some gear too…!
Parking at Patterdale Hall Estate is strictly for residents only. Public parking close to the start and end of the walks can be found in Glenridding by the Tourist Information Office; by Ullswater Steamers' Landing Stage and at the car park in Patterdale.
